Join us  Thursday, July 9, at 7pm for Eddie Blazonczyk's Versatones and our annual Polka Fest. Summer Concerts  In cases of rain, all Park concerts will be held in the Lincoln Center Fieldhouse.  Bringing your own lawn chairs is still recommended!

Youth Summer Programs

eGenius Challenge Academy

Kids - Explore your imagination and have fun! Academy learners are guided through "real world" experiences to solve exciting science, technology, engineering, and mathematic challenges.  Through teamwork Lego building, learners Question, Imagine, Invent, Design, Construct, Test, Observe, and Learn though robots THEY build themselves.  Learners will work in teams of two per robot - friends are welcome to sign up together and be partners.

Ages 9-13

Young Rembrandts Elementary Summer Drawing Camp

All classes take place at the Lincoln Center.  Please register for each session at the Lincoln Center 2 weeks prior to next session.

Ages 5-12

5 Wednesdays

July 15-August 12

Time: 9:30-10:30am

Fee: $45/$55

(Also, look for classes offered as an after school program at your elementary school during the school year!)

Kids Fishing Contest

Boys and Girls are invited to come out to Meadows Park Pond and enjoy a morning of fishing activities.  Contestants will participate in a catch and release fishing tournament and a casting contest.  Prizes will be given out for the winner's of the tournament and casting contest (combined totals).  Prizes for winners donated by Koobs Outland Sports.

Ages: 6-13

Fee: $7/$10

Tennis Camp

Learn proper tennis technique from Steve a long time USPTR tennis pro at Match Point and Head Coach at Calumet College, Ofelia is also a USPTR tennis pro at Match Point & is the Highland High School Girls Assistant Tennis Coach as well as the Calumet College Women’s Assistant Tennis Coach.  Bring your own tennis racquet, water bottle & lots of energy to the newly refurbished Highland High School tennis courts.  Camp is open to boys & girls, ages 5-18.  Meet Monday through Thursday, raindates/make up dates are always Fridays. 8-9:30am or 9:30-11am

Fee: $125/$135 per 3 week session

Kids Golf Camps

Basic hands-on golf instruction with PGA certified instructors.  Meets daily Monday-Friday.  Fridays conclude with a round on the Executive Course, putting contest, and a hot lunch.  New sessions start every Monday and build on existing skills.  Balls included, bring clubs if you have them, rental irons will be available.  $60/$65 per session.

Highland Street Market

The Highland Parks and Recreation Department strives to provide the community with an attractive venue to buy produce, plants, breads, arts, crafts, etc. directly from those who produce it.  The street market supports local farmers, gardeners, artists, and businesses while enriching the kinship within the community.  Market sales will be every Saturday from 9am-1pm at Main Square beginning June 13th through October 24th (except for 4th of July weekend and Sept. 12 Zest Fest Weekend).  Mail in  Registration: Street Market Vendor Registration Form & Rules

Park Board Meetings: The Highland Parks & Recreation Board will hold meetings as follows:  The regular meeting will be on the 3rd Thursday of the month at the Highland Municipal Building at 7pm.  The study session on those evenings will begin at 6:30pm & immediately following Board meetings. The Board will conduct a study session on the 1st Thursday of the month at the Lincoln Center at 6:30pm.
